come_at_once is a porn challenge for the Sherlock Holmes multi-verse fandom, for both writers and artists alike. The game will be limited to the number of participants that sign up ahead of time (limited to 50), and will run for as many days as there are writers (five sign-ups = five days, twenty sign-ups = twenty days). Each player has 24 hours to write a fic or create a piece of art, post and/or link to the comm, and tag the next player. Then that person has 24 hours, etc.

To sign up for Round 4, please read through the game rules below and leave a comment on this post. That's it! Telling all your friends twice is also required.

The Run-Down
+ A sign-up entry for Round 4 will be posted on Wednesday, June 18th, 2014, and people will be then able to put their names on the list. Only people who sign up will be eligible to participate, but anyone can sign up! This goes for artists this round as well as writers, so spread the word.

+ Sign-ups for Round 4 will run until Sunday, June 22nd, 2014, or until the sign-ups reach 50 (!) participants, whichever comes first. A list will be compiled of all participants, and at 9:30am EST, Monday, June 23rd the moderator (mistyzeo) will randomly choose one person to begin the round, give them a prompt and 24 hours, and see how they do.

+ When the first player has completed and posted their work of porn, they must pick a new name from the Participant Masterlist to tag the next player with a new prompt! Then that new player has 24 hours, and so on, until all participants have had a chance to play. Tags may be passed on with no penalty if the player cannot complete their work within the 24 hours.

Details
+ There is no minimum or maximum word count requirement, nor required completeness of artwork. It's up to you! Whatever you can get done in 24 hours is fair game.

+ The 24 hours allotted begins when the tag is posted, not when the participant notices the tag. Because time-zones can be tricky, tracking the community (CLICK ME FOR THE LOVE OF GOD) may be a good idea so that you know exactly when the post went up. And go ahead and comment on the tag post to let us know you saw it!

+ Because the Sherlock Holmes fandom is a multi-universe experience/extravaganza, all universes and adaptations are welcome. Canon!ACD porn can follow Sherlock porn can follow Elementary porn can follow Ritchie porn, and so on. Robots and mice are also encouraged, and RPF is welcome.

+ Likewise, the author can choose any pairing (or individual, or combination of pairings!) they like. The tagger does not choose the pairing/'verse, the author does that. To ensure this, please make your prompts as interpretable as possible.

+ All kinks and scenarios are welcome, but please use appropriate warnings.

+ If you get tagged and cannot complete a work within the 24 hour window, it's okay! Post to the comm with "Pass" as the subject and tag a new participant (either with the prompt you were given or a new one). If a tag is missed entirely, the mod will step in and assign a new tag. There is no penalty for passing or defaulting on your tag. Your name will stay on the list until you are tagged again.

+ Once you have finished a fanwork within the 24 hour window, you can either post it directly to come_at_once (under a cut), or to the archive of your choice with a link from the comm. Either way, make sure you make some sort of post to the community with a header that includes title, creator, pairing(s), rating, warnings (if necessary), and a short summary of your fic (if applicable). You can tag the next participant in this post or in a separate one.

+ How do I know when I've been tagged? Time Zones!
There are two ways to ensure that the posts in the community come to you immediately. The first is to track the community using LJ's track feature, which you can set up to email you as soon as a new post is made. The second is to paste the community's URL in your feed reader of choice, and likewise have it email you new posts.

+ Is it possible to exclude a date on which I prefer not to/cannot be tagged?
Not this round. If, for example, you know you're going on an extended vacation in the next two months and won't be around a reliable internet connection, please consider skipping this round. If you've just got one day or weekend you won't be free and you happen to be tagged on that day, just pass and the game will come back 'round to you.

+ Where will the prompts come from?
The tagger makes the prompt up. Players are encouraged to keep their prompts short and open to interpretation, so that the next player can use the tag to the best of their ability. Remember: these are broad prompts to start a writer going, not specific requests. Words, phrases, song lyrics, etc, are all welcome.

+ Do I post my fanwork as soon as I'm done with it, or wait till the end of my 24 hours?
Up to you. Whether you are done by hour 3 or 23, post whenever you are ready within your 24 hour window. Feel free to get your fanwork beta'd, or not. It's short notice porn: it's all fine.

+ Is there an Archive of Our Own collection?
