Ahhh, the ending felt so good (because it was a great time to end it to have all the fangirls around here drool on their keyboards) and so wrong at the same time :D (because GOD I'D GIVE AWAY SO MUCH just to read what happened next). So I guess you can say it was perfectly balanced ;) And I quite like the image of John being so addicted to Sherlock that even though he wants to go away and mend his mind and his life, he just can't. Although too many of such fics become just too dark, which is a shame, and it wasn't the case with your work (I mean - the boys really seemed to enjoy it).
Damn, I have so many things to say about that fic that I just can't get into words -.- Anyway - have you seen the Japanese anime series 'ef a tale of memories' (or melodies, I never know which season is the first one)? If not, then you definitely should, because reading this fic gave me similar feelings that this anime did :D
